The Arts and Crafts Master

The Arts and Crafts Design Course aims at providing the cultural, technological and project background
necessary to mould designers capable of interacting, controlling and manipulating glass, ceramics, mosaic and textile.
The secular tradition that has given Venetian entrepreneurs and mastery, as well as Italian design, world wide recognition for its uniqueness and high quality, provide the perfect environment for the acknowledgement and learning of theoretical and practical elements necessary to carry forth a design project from concept, to drawing, to prototype. Meeting and relating with renowned maestros, designers, artists and companies will provide a stimulating and matchless overview of production technologies and handicraft, enabling students to experiment with materials and therefore design.
The course is structured through different thematic areas that have the objective of developing students' design ability and creativity, bringing them to a complete project awareness. Students will acquire intellectual and technical abilities indispensable for a pro-active comprehension and reaction to contemporary industrial and craft scenarios, as well as future ones.
The course's program foresees theoretical lessons, laboratory activities and workshops, as well as visiting, conferences and visits to showrooms, companies and furnaces.
The thematic areas include: Historical - Cultural Area, Tools Area, Technological Area, Economics Area, and naturally a Design Area.

Projects

The course envisages four main projects: glass design, ceramic design, mosaic design and textile design.
