Fashion Accessories and Shoe Design (Milan)

The fashion accessory product is playing at the moment the protagonist's exceptional role within the international system. Today's aesthetics speaks again of luxury, grace and classicism, and empowers the accessory with a fundamental role in its own story, detaches it from a definition of secondary item and lets it express in the foreground its primary character of style and the rituality linked to the use of the product.
Therefore the design of a bag or of a shoe requires a detailed, accurate and specific preparation, able to fulfil the companies' expectations, which, on their turn, within such a customs scenario, pilot their own entrepreneurial will in search for skillful professional figures.

The study program

The advanced training course in accessories design (bags and suitcases, shoes, belts, leathergoods, etc.) develops the didactic process in three steps, differentiated and characterized by specific design projects, through which all theoretical and technical tools are offered to complete the final project that will be carried out in collaboration with a company of the field.
In the first phase the theoretical and technical subjects that are necessary for this specific design field are dealt with: history of accessories, sociology and contemporary trends, technology of materials, graphic design, creation and patternmaking of the product.
In the second phase the research modalities and the design methodology are treated.

In the third phase the design projects in collaboration with the companies.

Workshops

During the master 4 or 5 residential workshops will be conducted in Florence in cooperation with the biggest Florence association of leather companies.
