Just Traveling


these are not words that I say
they maybe have been said by you
they may have stirred in your closed mouth
and reached these shores
in waves of light

they may have been uttered by somebody else
/who puts the call of the wild on our tongues
someone who speaks for us through our tongues
or perhaps
we speak the words of those
unknown gods of ours
who have needed us
to mirror them

I may wander and search how and why
and enjoy flights beyond imagination
and tear syllable by syllable
to touch the flesh and heart
of it all

and still they are not mine these words,
my Lord,
not always
not ever

Calatorie

Ce rostesc eu nu sunt cuvinte
Poate chiar buzele tale le-au rostit cândva
Poate s-au frământat în gura ta închisă
si au ajuns pe tărmurile astea
În valuri de lumină

Poate cineva le-a mai soptit
cineva care ne pune-acum pe limbă chemarea sălbăciei
cineva care grăieste în numele nostru si prin gura noastră
sau poate
noi vorbim în numele lui
si el e doar un zeu de-al nostru pe care nu-l stim
dar care are nevoie de noi
ca să-l punem în lumină

Oricât as rătăci si m-as întreba cum si de ce
si oricât m-ar încânta zborul dincolo de plăsmuiri
si oricât le-as rupe, silabă cu silabă
ca să le pipăi
pielea si sufletul

nu sunt ale mele cuvintele acestea,
si Doamne,
nu totdeauna
nici măcar o dată

întotdeauna
te rostesc
pe tine.
